Initial Lineup Announced – Carl Craig to Headline!
The fifth annual Decibel Festival will again submerse Seattle in the broad spectrum of electronic music and its surrounding cultural elements. Since its inception in 2003, Decibel has booked over 400 acts, culminating in the biggest edition yet this fall. Following the success and critical acclaim of previous editions, the festival is once again assembling a diverse selection of international talent designed to stimulate its audience on multiple levels. The lineup features artists at the forefront of electronic music production, alongside exciting visual art performances, multimedia installations, workshops and panel discussions. With this landmark anniversary, Decibel will showcase several debut performances as well as some return favorites.

The four-day annual Decibel International Festival of Electronic Music Performance, Visual Art and New Media takes place this September 25 - 28.

The preliminary lineup thus far includes: Carl Craig, Deadmau5, Jahcoozi, Burnt Friedman, Audion, Luca Bacchetti, The Bug, Dixon, Barbara Morgenstern, Tujiko Noriko, Jeff Samuel, William Basinski, Deaf Center, Tycho, Santiago & Bushido, Akira Rabelais, Mike Monday, Eluvium, Library Tapes, Noah Pred, Kilowatts, Jeff Greinke, Derek Plaslaiko, Welder, Alland Byallo, Eskmo, Jacob London, Deru, Lusine, Craig Kuna, Balún, Nikola Baytala, Sammy D, Let's Go Outside, Les Freres Courvoisier, Alala.One, M. Sustainability in the Arts
Seattle is one of the top green cities in North America, reflecting the increasing global need for positive environmental impact. In 2008 Decibel has made a commitment to work in creating a zero carbon footprint event. This will reflect throughout Decibel's programming, partners, sponsors, educational outreach and other components.

This year's Decibel Festival will feature recycling stations and eco-friendly hotel rooms through our sponsor, the Best Western Executive Inn in Seattle. Decibel will be announcing more sustainability efforts in the weeks leading up to the festival.

DB Passes / Tickets
This year Decibel will be offering three types of festival passes:
All Access Pass = $175 : Access to all venues, all four days and nights (very limited).
Deluxe Pass = $125 : Access to all club events, including “Db in the Park” and the “Db BBQ”.
Weekend Club Pass = $100 : Access to evening club events, Friday through Sunday.

We’ll be offering a limited number of discounted Deluxe Passes ($100) from July 15th through August 15th. We’ll be sending out a password code and instructions via the Decibel Email List. Individual Showcase Tickets will be going on sale beginning August 1st (20 Showcases ranging from $10 to $25).

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Seattle’s Decibel Festival returns in 2008 with an edition that will be more extensive and stimulating than ever. We are currently seeking film, video and animated works to present during OPTICAL 2008. Our theme this year is sustainability in the arts. We encourage artists worldwide to submit their works for consideration. OPTICAL covers multimedia performances, short films, animation, and other cutting-edge visual work by some of today's most provocative artists.

Past highlights include audio/video performances by Ryoichi Kurokawa, Speedy J w/Scott Pagano, Richard Chartier and Randy Jones.
