LOL - Mike Roach on the microphone was hilarious on Sunday after Sharam
My review of the weekend...
Friday night: Puff w/ Lee Burridge.
- cool venue w/ full hooka bar. Was on the slower side and I think it was because Puff is off the strip and hard to find. We drove by it 3x but Lee was playing great as to be expected.
Saturday: MGM w/ Danny and Vic
- Was off to a really slow start because it was raining. It was pretty cold so I think most people bailed on the pool but I still had a great time though. Vic and Danny played great but thats to be expected as they are the best of the best.
Saturday night: Prive w/ Danny at 4am
- Danny played for about 3 hours.. Killed it. The transition was tough since they Prive is primarily a Hip-Hop Venue but I didn't care. We had a table and rocked out. Sound system was dope - Full Funktion 1.
Sunday: MGM w/ Cedric and Sharam
- Insane. Weather was nice and full of beautiful woman. I saw more Mohawks then I thought was humanly possible. Sharam killed it. Cedric played a little on the commercial side.
Sunday night: Eric Morillo @ Tao
- Holy . It was packed. Eric dropped all the hits. He was all over the board w/ his tracks but thats Eric.... He somehow puts it all together. I left at 8am and it was still going strong.
Monday:
- Barely made it to my flight.
Empire was closed all weekend... Rumor had it they haven't paid rent in 10 months... I don't know if that is true or not. They proabbyl could have made enough money this weekend to pay for all 10 months! |

that was pretty much my same list of parties attended. didn't make the DT afterparty - at Wet Republic he told me he didn't think it was going to happen at Prive so i didn't follow up. but i needed a good nites sleep anyway for Wet Republic and Morillo on sunday so seeing DT at the pool party was good enough anyway.
good times when Sharam and Cedric started tag-teaming. Sharam was scheduled to stop at 6pm but they decided to close the nite out - funny how hammered those guys got doing all those Patron shots. |

| Wet Republic Sunday was great! I though Cedric was a little better than Sharam. Sharam went a little too dark/technoish for the daytime party vibe for me (could have been because Dubfire was there??) Then he dropped some old commercial songs of his and it was fun but kinda blah. Sure didn't stop the good times at all though. Great great venue. Booming sound system, made for real DJ set's unlike the other Vegas pool parties. |

AMEN! To that.
I ONLY went to see Morillo, and through the 8+hrs of driving, sleep deprivation and hung overness it was still worth it.
I was expecting a set marginally better then his Avalon set a few nights before.
But boy was i wrong, it was WAAYY better. He had more energy the whole freaking set. Dropped MANY bangin tracks he didnt play at the Avalon. I have a semi-tracklisting in my TAO dress code thread.
ALSO
Props to Lee Kalt holding it down before Morillo. Even though Morillo told him NOT to play any big records
Due to my missfortune i missed most of his set :(
But he gave me his promo CD + a few of his up comming CDR's so it was well worth it :toothless

I spoke to them (dubfire/sharam/cedric) while Morillo was spinning, but its not the same as watching them play  |

i thought Lee Kalt sucked to be honest. no real flow to his set. i mean seriously, he played Bon Jovi. listen to that WMC promo CD he probably gave you....a lot of popular/good tunes with a couple of head scratchers in no particular order. that would describe his set perfectly.
i swear if i hear Grindhouse one more time its going to go from an awesome song to played out in one week. DT, Calderone, Cedric, Sharam, Burridge and Kalt all played it. i assume Erick did though i didn't stay to the end for him so i can't be sure. |
