No More De-koze at Breathe

De-koze is not going to be a resident at System Soundbar on Friday nights anymore....this sucks! I live in Buffalo, but would go to System on nights where there was no headliner, just to hear De-koze and Scaife.
He is going to honor his last 2 schedueled playdates, and after that he will be starting a new residency at Turbo, with a 6 hour opening set.
In my opinion, this is going to hurt Breathe. Even though they are bringing in some of the freshest progressive talent out there, your residents are just as important as the big names.
I will try to make it to Turbo to hear him play, but that's only if nothing big is going on at System, I absolutely love that place.
Good luck Mike
Peace,
Steve :D |

I totally agree Viceroy. Even tho I only made it to System a few times to see Mark and Deko, I think you make a great point about residents being just as important as big names. A 6 hour set at turbo? Is it me or does that sound like a lot! lol I get tired of seeing long sets, I don't care if it's Tiesto, Oakey, or PVD, after 4 hours, I wanna some new . haha I'm going to see Graham in Ottawa and I think he's spinning a 6 hour. I am looking forward to it, but I also do love my variety.

Hmm, Turbo seems to be killing system. 1 year ago they stole their Friday and Saturday night DJ's, and system was dead, i mean the club would be 1/3 full, now they are recovering and this happens? hmm, this is not good... and system is one of my faivorate clubs... |

System and Turbo have 2 different crowds IMO. Every friday that I have been to Breathe it has been RAMMED to the with people. When I first started going to Breathe friday's, there weren't many people there, now it is the place to be. I'm sure they will find a good replacement for Mike, hopefully they'll give it to Matt Coleridge! (amazing local talent)
I agree with ya halo a little bit, but marathon sets give dj's an opportunity to take us on a true journey. 1-2 hour sets just aren't enough. I played for 2 hours last weekend, and the time went by so damn fast I wish I had another 2 hours on top of that. Long sets have their time and place.
De-koze had an 8 hour set their a few weeks ago, stellar.
Peace,
Steve :D |

umm i would disagree
i prefer longer sets, cuz then i think djs can connect with the crowd a lot better... |
