I'm definately not a computer expert, so i need some help.
I would like to buy another Hard Disk and hook it up via Firewire. (i have the Firewire plugs on the front of my PC.)
What kind of Hard Disk would I have to get, and what equiptment should I use? |

there are two options for hooking up an IDE harddisk to you pc via IEEE1394:
1. buy a firewire HDD (like from WD) you can find these at www.pricewatch.com in the Harddisk section
2. you buy a Firewire enclosure for IDE-HDD's. this will set you back ~US$80, but you can put any harddisk in there you want. Just make sure that you get one with venting holes, as my roommates' HDD almost died in one, that was getting _VERY_ hot, since it was basically insulated.
hope this helps..
oh yeah, you do need FW cable :D |

cool.
i think imma get a 80 gigger WD for 189...not bad i say.
One more question, can my computer handle it?
It's 650 MHz, with only 128 MB of RAM, and windows 98. |

Firewire -aka IEEE1934- is a way to connect external peripherals to your pc. it is quite fast -400Mbps-. it is a standart proposed by the IEEE and it is used widely for camcorders (most sony's have an interface)..
there are firewire webcams too (I got one) and firewire enclosures..
it is hot-pluggable..
