Just announced a tour and the tickets are like gold dust. 2 tickets are going for 3000 dollars on eBay. |

better yet, have you heard Scarlett Johanssons' covering Waits songs? 
I like him, definatly have to be in the mood. "Tango 'til They're Sore" is probably my favorite. Don't like him enough to pay that amount for the tickets tho. I prefer Leonard Cohen and even Johansson's versions better. That's saying alot :wtf: |

My father's business partner (and longtime family friend) is absolutely nuts about Waits, and at first I couldn't understand it nor could I ing stand Waits voice.
But like developing a serious whiskey problem, it just took time - and now for some reason I find his voice oddly comforting. Still not a huge fan, but he's definitely one of those artists that when I need to listen to some Tom Waits, nothing else will work. I've never heard anyone else like him. |

i got into tom waits after a cd of his landed on my desk when i was a reviewer for a music show as a teen.
the man dares go places in such a brutal way that when other people of this generation do so, it feels fake and contrived .. i dare say he's one of the last few artistes of an era now distant. |
