given this a couple of listens now, and I'm not sure how I feel about it....
Technically, it's spot on, can only say I heard two very minor errors, and in no way detracted from the mix
Tracklist wise, with the exception of a couple of mix choices (spada and mumbling yeah in particular ;) ), this should be ing superb
but I just don't feel it. Every time it seems to get going, it stops and slows down, and never got the idea of any real flow after hispaniola...
I dunno, maybe I got my hopes up after Robs post but I never really thought "ing hell thats techno!", just seemed a bit pedestrian, especially after Radar.
look forward to hearing a more nightclub orientated techno set from you :) |

Matthew Matthew at your service. Like rob said though the straight set is up on the first post. Let me know if you have any problems with it.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the whole set. Gates Park 1 is all sort of win.

Thanks for taking time to check it out. Def appreciate the opinion ableton slinger ~ wink. I guess like you would have to have heard the play live to really appreciate the set probably. This is about as dance floor ready as I get but I make it work. The lack of flow and sudden changes in feeling and mood throughout the set is my style and not everyone can get down with it so rock n’ roll. I find it far from pedestrian but its all good, thanks once again for checking it out. |

mathias i d/led the zipped version but refused to listen to 24 tracks split up. the split-second pause between tracks is worse than any trainwreck that anyone can up, imo.. i hear the reasoning behind it is so people know when you transition, but i think a well detailed t/l or a cue file that people could reference would be just as effective
anyways i did start downloading the full file today. will have a review soon. |

i think that convinced me to download
i'm all for keeping mixing interesting even if at the risk of ing up (especially at the risk of ing up) |

lol, well I don’t expect people to not take the gap out. In almost every player out there you can take the gap out, or when you burn it you take it out as well. It’s just so that if people want to watch when things come in and out they can. The straight set is up though without being tracked so grab that one silly.

Nice, that is exactly the way I feel. Anyone who has ever heard me live knows that flow isn’t the best word to use. Every mix is going to be different and I tell a story now through flow but through changes of mood and pacing. Thanks for checking it out, let me know what yeah think. |

Gates Part 1 was a nice touch at the beginning. Radar was also a lot fun including the flow into Aria. I had thought I was a bigger fan of the Tiger Stripes Remix of Aria, but apparently not. :) Although, that being said, I think I'm tired of Aria, it just doesn't do it for me anymore.
Homosapiens was the track I was most looking forward too. I was randomly browsing James Holden videos on YouTube one day and came across him dropping Invitation and since then October has been catching my eye. The streak of highs in Homosapiens is great.
Maria, no words needed, always fun to listen to.
Oddly, (not oddly as in I never agree with Az, in fact I find Az's music taste to be most excellent) I agree with Az. I felt like the mix never had that "oh " moment even though the track selection wasn't all that bad.
Regardless, I enjoyed it, and that's the primary objective. :D |
