Rinster my friend! Welcome back with your new work in progress. Dude, what i like about your productions is you use such interesting synths which are unlike anything you hear out in the general masses. You've reproduced the melody perfectly and it has the right sense of eerieness that this track should have. I would again advise you to take a listen through headphones if you haven't already, as the mixdown sounds a little strange space-wise, especially the kick. Have you used stereo widening or panning on the kick? If so you probably shouldn't, the kick needs to be direct (mono) and in ya face! :) Some of the billowy FX are awesome too but a little too intense, maybe need to be tamed slightly but will create some nice texture when you're done. Keep us updated with how this goes!

listening... the mix is kinda lacking something... the kick is too low i think... it has some wierd stereo phasing going on... it sounds kinda distorted when the bass comes in, and i gotta tell you, this bass can be much more effective... i feel also as the whole thing is running thru way excessive compression... the lead could be more big and full, its kinda narrow right now... the kick in after that break is kinda weak...
so, in conclusion, your mix need major improvement, remember, keep it simple, an eq and a mild compressor is fine, also your synths could do much more with some tweaking, the bass could use a different sound to it... thats my opinion, not to offend you, you seem to know your way in your stuff, you just need to make it stand out more and improve it... keep it up! :)

hmm.. whats happening with the stereo phasing? sounds like 98% of the stuff is on the right channel, only real wishy washy.. you havent happened to have a stereo enhancer on the main channel do u?

other than that it sounds pretty cool, bass might need more low end, might just be my speakers tho..

i really love the pad.. what synth is that?

dj_unsorted
right on... i love the original... this one's not bad... i don't think it'll go on my i-pod... but i'm deffinitly keeping it on my comp =o)

I agree with everyone about the weird stereo phasing. Furthermore the track lacks a lot of drive, which is because of 2 things
- the percussion arrangement is way too simple. you almost have no perc in the offbeat + the one offbeat hat you have is only used at 1+ and 3+ after the break (whereas you used it at 1+, 2+, 3+ and 4+ before the break)
- your mix overall has mostly quarter notes, try adding some semiquavers in the low and mid frequency area to give it overall more drive

I think the mix clips a bit (at least it sounds like that)

Hope I could help!
