Cubase SX3 problem

I recently just had to buy a new computer - and I put my old hard drive in it - luckily all my software including Cubase still works from my other drive. Except I now have a small problem, which is causing me a problem when using the likes of Melodyne.
The problem is this -
When I used to load up cubase in my old PC - it would keep performing (or playing) even when I minimised it, or opened up another window 'in front'
This has since not been the case with the new PC - whenever I minimise everything cuts off - until I maximise the window again. This causes a problem with melodyne, as everytime I load it up and playback - Cubase cuts off and nothing plays through Melodyne.
Im baffled - Surely it cant be the soundcard, as I use a Behringer mixer hooked via USB as a codec - which is exactly the same as it was with the old PC.
Am I missing something simple?

I've never heard of that before... does it just do that with just your audio recording programs, or with any window... if you have a song playing in WMP, does WMP have to be open for you to hear it as well? |

Just Cubase! While listening to music while browsing etc its fine.
I hope its just something as simple as ticking a box in my settings! |

That seems pretty quirky - I can't imagine it being a setting (could be wrong, just not sure why you'd have a setting that doesn't allow playback when the window isn't present). Since it's a rather new Pc and you were likely installing a few things on it, have you wiped Cubase off and done a fresh install? |

No - I thought I would do a re-install, but wanted to check in case that awsnt needed. Anyone else any ideas? |

Guys - thank you sooooooooooooooooo much!
I knew it had to be something simple - I must have checked it when I was setting it up on the new PC.
Woohoo! No re-install necessary!!!!
Thanks again!
