Hello, I was wondering if I can ask you a few question regarding the iTouch ver 2, it states it’s now GPS enabled. How does that work, is it through satellites or data? Since it’s not a phone, how can it transfer Data?
(Dude goes away and comes back)
Dude
You must be in a Wifi Area for the GPS to work.
John
You’re telling me, if I’m lost and I need to get from point A to B, I must be in a WiFi area?
Dude
Yes
John
What if the WiFi area I’m in ends in 2 feet? How do I get to point B then?
Dude
I have no idea; your signal will be lost.

That doesn’t make any sense at all to me.
The question is, the iPhone ver 2, it’s GPS enabled also … I have a strong feeling it will be using Internet Data also. |

It'll require a 3G connection but will have a real GPS receiver, not some cluster cell-tower triangulation system that'll approximate your position with piss-poor accuracy.
They'll never equip the phone with the maps in memory. They will come down via HSPA for sure. |

That's what I'm wondering ... The BlackBerry's also have GPS, but it has to use Data to run it. It's not a real GPS receiver built in ... b/c it uses TeleNav. |
