If you have to ask that you didn't read what I posted but sure.

Nobody is getting angry. What on earth gave you that idea? |

You're right, it was so ridiculously absurd I didn't even bother. |

I don't even know what's going on anymore...
Some random rant out of nowhere and then some decade-old forum pictures. Go figure.
Are you having a bad day or something? |

I'm getting a little bit more into sound creation, but I still find it easier and faster to take a patch and tweak it. I try to stay away from factory presets, since everyone uses those. I go to http://www.kvraudio.com/ and check out all the free patches there. If I find good patches for sale, I buy them. I normally tweak every patch I use, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. I like having my own sound. If you are trying to get tracks signed to good labels, having your own unique sound is important. I also download free VSTI's and tweak their presets. There's so many free VSTI's and patches on the internet, and new ones show up all the time. So you have endless potential for new sounds.
I randomize presets a lot, and then tweak. Some synths are better at that than others. Very simple synths are the ones best for randomizing, so you at least get some noise out of them almost everytime.
For pianos, strings, orchestra, ect... I use presets. I'll tweak the attack, hold, sustain and release sometimes, but other than that it's hard to improve on these instruments that have been around for hundreds, and even thousands of years. |

Am I the only one who tries to create everything from scratch?
Working my way through the creation of new sounds is at least half the fun of making a track for me.
I can see why you might just use presets or tweak them a bit if you enjoy the musical composition part more than sound manipulation, though.
I find that I get about equal enjoyment from those two parts. |

OMFG... that is hilarious.
And Derivative... seriously, what the hell? Did you just use a preset piciture for bipolar internet lashing? You should have recreated the wheel. |
