I work for Con Edison in Environmental Operations. I operate equipment and respond to emergency situations (electrical fires, black outs, transformer explosions.) Most of my day consists of driving around and waiting to be dispatched to emergency jobs. Once I get my title in another year I will probably transfer to the overhead department and become a chief line splicer. My department is easy money (lots of OT) but I don't see myself staying there any longer than a few years......I want to expand my knowledge and experience and learn more about the electrical system. I think overhead is my best option because I don't want to retire in NY and there is overhead in just about every major city in the US.

Other than that I'm a amateur/pro fisherman. One day.....Uncle Ed, Steven Neil, and myself will start a charter business in Belize and build our own underground prostitution ring. :thepirate

Put in a good word for me @ CON ED:tongue2
I applied a couple of years ago as a meter reader but they never hired me:rolleyes: :toothless

I work at Health Information Management at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens:toocool:

I went to SJU for a year after HS and decided college wasn't for me because I didn't know what I wanted to major in. I worked for the family business for a few years and decided to go back to school. I was only a PT student and it was taking me FOREVER to finish. I am now a FT student and working my way towards a BS in Nursing. I still have two more years left. I'm working FT (for family) for the summer since I am on break.
I think the happiest day of my life will be the day I graduate.

I'm sure I could handle a part-time program though. I'm only entertaining the idea bc where I am now it really wouldn't make much of a difference if I got an MBA or not...my concern is that I may not be here forever!

Keryn,
I just started class part time for my Masters Degree in Real Estate Development at NYU. The networking there has been very good so far (no job yet though). There are a ton of events and connections you will meet... plus the class has been interesting thus far. The program is a huge investment but for me it was a no brainer. I was in IT audit at Teloitte & Douche, recently laid off at the end of Feb (couldnt stand the work anyway)... I've wanted to get into the Real Estate industry and thought going back to school would be the best transition. Still havent found a full time position yet, but that will come eventually.

that depends on which side you stand. i'm only the enemy to greedy IRS agents. my job is to lower costs for corporation so they can pass it to consumers - or just keep it to themselves.
