obviously the judges will first listen to the whole mix at its original speed first:D |
Ok, I'll record my mix at 30bpm then speed it up :stongue:  |

| in my opinion, fast bpm is harder to mix than slow bpm, less precision, and less time to get it perfectly beatmatched. just my two cents. |

| Faster is harder, so I don't see the point in slowing it down, when we've been doing at a high pitch, if we've not beatmatched right, you can tell anyway :p |

| at the end of the day, it dont matter what speed the mix is played at, the mixing remains the same. the idea of judging is to pick the holes in your mixes and determine the best 1, remember 1/3 of the mark is tracklist progression ;) |

it all depends on what you're used to , mixing at 120 bpm when u used to mixing at 145 bpm could be a bit hard |

ya, he is right, when i started mixing, i did it around 140-145, and then i bought all these old school tunnel trance vinyl that were like 155-170 bpm, and i found them hard at first, but when i got used to them, it was like regular, it all depends on how you train your ears, now i can do either pretty easily, so ya |

there will be atleast one more this year...however i think we should limit them to once a year so we can have like an award for TA DJ of the year. |

lol thats a really hard award to give. these competitions are so tight, and really, it comes down to the judge's personal preference, whether you like it or not, when the top mixes are all so technically sound, beatmatching/phrasing/harmonic wise. so giving just one dj the "ta dj" of the year is impossible.
plus there's such a high demand for this, that once a year is too little. |
