While I was waiting to get my haircut, I picked up this issue of Arthur.
It just about mirrors this discussion I heard on NPR, the way home one day.
Sorry, you old folks may need to bust out your glasses, or just download the pdf from the site and enlarge it. ;)

it's def worth the long read.
screengrabbed from the pdf from the free issue of www.arthurmag.com |

| well it's a sad reflection upon our society to see that even in this day when everyone is aware and affected by our tumbling consumer purchasing power and mounting debt, no one gives enough of a damn to click this thread and read the short article explaining what is happening here. then they all have the nerve to cry about high gas prices over american idol commericial breaks while stuffing their faces with mcds. the founding fathers warned us that it's this kind of learned complacency that will bring our nation down, not al qaeda or iran. |

I was in awe when I made the connection between Chapter 11 and the property.
Also, this is why I am eliminating as much CC debt as I can.
motherin BUMP.
werd Rich.
On another note, not whining, but I just saw $4.71 for premium on my way through the valley for a pickup. |

I had to re-read it again to refresh my memory on this topic, I must say the last 2 paragraphs are GOLD!!
This should be a part 2 to Rushkoff's article.

Amen to that.
When I was younger, I always questioned how on earth people were buying things they could never afford. They kept telling me things like: "its good to have debt" or "its good debt". Drove me crazy, cause I couldn't understand how to purchase something without being able to.
Hopefully people in our generation will start to realize the huge mistakes made in the past, and at least manage their debt better.
I never charge more than what I make in a paycheck on my CC's. And I ALWAYS pay them off in full every billing cycle. Banks don't get a dime from me, too bad the merchants I use my card at have to give up some pennies for my conveniences. |
