Hello, some questions about these products...

Kontakt... they say it contains samples of every intrument in the world for every possible genre. But are they really that good? The saxes, guitars, sitars, orchestral, etc? Particularly the saxaphone?

Battery... Kontakt has drum samples too... how much of an advantage is battery over kontakt?

kontakt is annoying to use for drums. battery has a much nicer interface, but guru has an even better one. :p

the inbuilt kontakt library is generally pretty good imo. certainly better than sampletank and so forth. it's obviously not comparable to the vienna orchestra libraries though, haha.

Never used Kontakt, I find battery very user friendly. I tried Guru once, got frustrated and ditched it but I don't have any patience.

Why would you want to use Kontakt over Battery for drums??

Personally i pefer Live drum rack, then Guru.
Kontakt and Battery are quility to, interface feels outdated tho IMO

Since a year or so, I use Battery for all my drum samples (mostly single shots), before that, I used Kontakt 1 for my drums. The reason I switched is that Kontakt 2 was somewhat complicated for just drums. The have also put Kontakt forward as a 'sampler' and Battery more as a drum machine.

However, Kontakt can still be used for your drumsamples, it is just what you like best. In my case, that's Battery for the drums, Kontakt for every other sample I use (I.E. orchestral sounds). Battery's interface is much easier in use that the Kontakt interface.

The quality of the samples used in Kontakt are imo very good. The advantage of Kontakt it is compatible with multi-format samples. Use Kontakt as your sampler, and you will never need another.

(Native Instruments RULE ALL!!!!!)
edit: No this is not spam !!! ;)

Ahhhh!
Thought there might have been an advantage that Kontakt has over Battery.

kontakt does have a lot of features that battery does not, particularly when it comes to effects. it's just a pain in the ass to use for drums, because of the interface. the drum grid in battery is much easier.

problems with the interface aside, is kontakt basically battery (drum samples) + all its other samples? In other words, the same number/type/etc of drum samples are included with kontakt and it would be pointless to own both?

the libraries that come with kontakt are different from that which come with battery. i wouldn't worry about the stock drum sets though, because they're usually .

maybe you should download the demos and see for yourself. personally, i cannot use kontakt for drums, it just makes the whole process far too slow.
