it's where letterman picks up guests to run into the show sometimes, and rupert is a regular on the show.

on top, i love the trio... but my whole nyc experience isn't based around mintek... i mean, obvious format b, corla, guido, panpot

some serious acts...

but i also really wanna enjoy the city...

don't wanna seem "downer" like but i'll be picking and choosing and not just partying the whole time, i actually plan on resting and enjoying the magic that is nyc
Aleks_B
looks like an an event worth hitting up!

i wish i could take the time off.
MissK
so it's final. I can't go, it's my sister's 19th birthday so I am in charge of taking her out and making sure she doesn't get alcohol poisoning.

This will be an insane weekend. Sad I must miss. :(

I'll be doing the same Dave. I don't want to be partying my whole weekend. This will only be my 2nd time in the city and I want to enjoy it more. I haven't seen nearly enough of it yet.

For touristy things that wont be too cliche:

the double-decker bus tours are actually really entertaining, and you can see most of the city in a couple hours. Impossible to see NYC as a whole if you are only there for a weekend, so its the best way to see the sights. I have taken friends on this several times and still not sick of it. Do the downtown loop that starts at 50th and 8th.

Top of the Rock has the best views. People keep going up to the Empire State building which is just silly, seeing as then the building wont be incorporated into the view.

Central Park is always good on a nice day...try to find the lawn in the center off West 72nd street. Panoramic views of the city with no obstructions. Guests always love this when I take them. :)

Soho for shopping (or 5th/madison ave if you want to "dream". I love pretending to shop there and see $25,000 purses and such. lol) Canal street for the fake goods....see the guy who whispers in your ear on the street about having "gucci, fendi, etc...." They will take you underground, which tends to have real stuff for discounted prices. INSPECT the goods!! The stuff above ground is all fake, the tunnels below have a combo of real and fake. look and you shall find ;) do NOT go in the underground alone!!

Meatpacking, Soho, little italy, Nolita, or Tribeca for cute cafes and outdoor dining/celeb sightings. Try also, to find one Of MANY rooftop bars/restaurants. great views!

Lower East Side for underground feel. Big hipster/fashionable/gay/drag/young people scene with lots of underground stuff that you may have to ask the locals to recommend. I Like the Annex on Fridays. Sometimes you dont even realize that there are clubs there because they are all underneath. :)

tons and tons of stuff to do. I have lived here for years and havent even touched on 50% of what NYC has to offer.

wow awesome list ^^
Ive been to NYC countless times and I haven't done some of the things you mentioned, definitely going to add some of them to our list. ;) Elayna, my best friend who is coming with us, has never been to NYC so that should make it even more fun!

I wanna bunny hop onna bus.. Mils? yes? haha

I definitely want to do this this time round. Next year I plan on staying a whole week in NYC. I need to take in more of the city.

Top of the Rock is amazing. I need to go there during the day this time though so I can get some great photos of the city and the bridges. Last time it was dark, but I would recommend going up this one as well instead of Empire. And the view in the park Kel... priceless! I need a panoramic camera.

$40 real goods :) (more for chanel....that is the highest risk when the real bags are usually priced well above $2000 each).

but you have to dig! The reason the guys whisper to you and take you to underground tunnels (so rumor has it) is that the stolen goods (ie: real) are underground and dont want police involvement. Nothing on street level is authentic, just stuff that is manufactured to LOOK real. You have to know your fashion, tho. Some of the stuff is made to perfection according to the authentic brands, and the peeps downstairs will charge you $40-100 for something you coulda bought outside for $20. really have to inspect!

damn, that is still good. I would probably fail horribly though. I don't know the designer stuff enough. Just Gucci, thanks to Shell.
That would be great though..nothing beats real goods for cheap prices. :)
