Especially those that toured...crates of cargo?

Also there is this middle aged woman who started laptop dj'ing like 2 months ago and is now opening up a few nights here in town, whereas we have a lot of people who've been at it for years and cant seem to get more than 1 weekly.
no knock on her age or her gender, but 2 months and shes moving up the ladder already... is it really that easy with all the new technology to learn how to "DJ"? as opposed to having to use turntables.
i want her computer to crash and see what she does lol
tjpatel
whats her myspace
bigperf
she doesnt have a music myspace page. thats the funny thing, its like wtf! she just started at this and is playing shows already. is it that easy to "learn" or does the laptop do all the work...

I don't understand what you mean. What did DJs with a lot of vinyl do?

Lots of these:

Or these:

I actually have that one.

edit // and beatmatching is easy, anyone can figure it out within a matter of weeks. Actually putting together a set that's cohesive, interesting, etc...takes a lot of work. I'm sure she's a DJ so don't worry :p
Gordy
i still have my old crate, with some of the few vinyls that mean something to me in it.

and yes they took those heavy ass boxes full of vinyl every where, planes, trains, and automobiles. and god help you if you left in in the sun by accident or in a car during they day.

I have that exact case. Plus and 80 record odyssey bag. Don't miss carring them though.

To be honest,

I had these.

I couldnt afford a bag when I started Djin, so I carried all my records in a crate.

Then I upgraded to this

I ended up with this one:

Over a summer party I can compensate with what Gordy was saying. I left my records in the back of my Dads pickup truck and they melted.

Valuable Lesson.

If she is only using her laptop, and has only been doing it a few months, I'd expect it to crash. I've had this happen to me and always bring CDS as a backup now just in case.

my 2 cents on her getting booked is how hard she is working and who shes talking to get booked. If you dont talk or present yourself in a way in which someone is gonna want you, dont expect to be booked.

+1 on what bas said about building a cohesive set too. What town do you live in bigperf?
Techno_Twins
Is this for real???
spinvinyl

really good knee pads
DjWoody
Also, don't forget. Just because she started "laptop" dj'ing, it don't mean she hasn't been DJ'ing for a while.

I've been using Serato since 2005, but I've been DJ'ing WAY WAY WAY longer than that.
