Who else is waiting for it?
To this day I've never had a smartphone, but this looks like the one I'll be getting. |

| The price point is fantastic. I am truly shocked to see the price come down to $199 (entry model) in less than a year for the 2nd generation iPhone. |

| fw 2.0 is going to be sick, sucks though that we have to wait until july to get it. The new iphone is nothing special but i will still end up getting it, once my current iphone either gets lost or broken. |

i think the iphone sucks compared to windows mobile. Look at the new htc devices coming out. There's so much you can do win winmo, iphone is jack .
Rumor has it apple subsidized part of the price, now you can *only* buy an iphone through apple and its contracts are more expensive, and more exclusive. good luck getting an unlocked iphone 3g. |

| I just upgraded the rom from 5.0 to 6.1; the interface is pretty easy to change if you are willing to take the time to do it right. Theres a huge supply of free apps out there for it. MMS. SSH. etc... |

AT&T are responsible for the price drop, not Apple. Not that that really matters all too much, save for the fact that Apple will once again take credit for something they had no real part in (like an operating system that can MOTHERING DUAL-BOOT?!!).
There's been rumors that there's been rate hikes in iphone plans as well to compensate for the price drop, dunno about that.
Question is, will Apple reduce the price of the ipod touch? Considering there's no service provider to subsidize, I highly doubt it. But it would make logical sense that they would since it doesn't do as much as the iphone. |

if you get the new iphone you will be paying 160$ more 2 years than you would for the current iphone, buts thats in the US.

you can do exactly the same thing with the current iphone to jailbreak it takes like 2 min, and 1 click of a button, from there on in download & install what ever you want straight on the iphone and most apps are free. |

| The lack of MMS and flash support are the main missing features IMO. |

I've read reports that they're working on both aspects at the moment. For my own personal use, Flash would be a great addition. |

Yeah, my friend sent me a link the other day about rumored MMS support. That'd be great! |
