I've never understood why people praise this VST so much. It doesn't sound like the JP-8000 supersaw at all. It does this ugly phasing thing at the start. The filter is very weak. The separate detuning knobs are a pain in the ass to use. It's also a CPU hog.
Anyways, thats just my opinion. :)
As for any free VST I can recommend. I really like OtiumFX Basslane.
It lets you control the stereo width of your bassline in an easy way, without routing to separate groups and using different filters.

I agree on the superwave, just plain terrible.
From the time I was still using other stuff than reason 4 I liked:

mgtriggergate
mgtempodelay (or something like that)
