does anyone know of any books/websites about meditation that do not feature the word "spiritual"? i'm interested in meditation, but i need like, "non-spiritual meditation", or "meditation for quasi-athiests".
Yay? Nay?
"Breathe in the infinite peace of the spiritual universe. Feel your heart opening and expanding as that peace flows into your being like a golden light."
i read like the above, on every web page, and it hurts my soul. i need meditation without the bs. |

There are lots of different types of meditation...
Personally when I meditate I just sit completely still in a dark room and take deep, regular breaths for like half an hour to an hour. Pretty relaxing.
I agree that there's way too much bunk in typical "guides" to meditation. I don't think you need a "guide," personally. I just treat it as a way to let my mind clear up and become more still and focused. |

| Also, I'm a non-believer and don't really put any stock in "spirituality," or at least not in all the wishy-washy unscientific baggage that people usually attach to that term. |
