hello,

i have a problem with the recording audio from my instruments, esp Waldorf Q.
I use Rme Multiface 2 and AMT midi interface from Emagic.

LINK : http://www.sendspace.com/file/959kxx

here is a jpg wit the problem i have, its sth like Lateency problem or sth like that, but when i change Latency even to the 32 sample, the problem is the same.

I do not know how can i solve the problem, midi wires are max 200 cm long from each instrument.

I have chandeg the drivers, I have reinstalled System, Nuendo etc, problem is still ...

i know that the space from the note to the recorded audio is not very big, but i can hear the difference in sounding, because its a feeling like the melody or even baseline is delayed ...

its very annoying when i have to move the recorded audio exactly to the right point every time i want to listen sth ...

thank You for your help guys ...

1° it's latency caused by some sort of plug-in delay compensation that doesn't always work the way it should.

AND/OR

2° it's a typical midi/external instrument problem, specially on windows computers running specific devices like the amt8, but also older mac computers running older software.

You can have the fastest midi or usb interface and it won't solve the problem. Midi is slow.

I'm afraid you'll have to time correct your audio manually.

You can make another test so it gets clear: take a synth, make a 4 bar 16th repetition of a short note. If all notes are spot on (the feel of the sequence), it's typical latency issue that you need to fix by time-correcting the beginning of your audio file. If you feel that all 16th's are like getting a groove while there's none, this is the typical problem I was talking about, and you will have to time-correct every single note played to make sure it's spot-on.

Welcome to the joy of audio recording. Guess why many people rely on software synths nowadays...

Hey,

Same trouble in my studio with my unitor 8.
I'm not running Cubase, but with logic you can apply a delay on the midi preferences.
It won't solve the trouble when you recording audio clip from external devices but it help for software monitoring.
Anyway, it's quite easy to zoom in on your audio clip an place it at the right place.
