hey guys i've been producing for about 4 months now( I know not that long but everyone has a beginning) but anyways i love producing and making music and im really sticking to it its something i enjoy and am planning on staying with it....well my studio (if you can call it that) is basically just a computer stock speakers, stock sound card, but i did upgrade my ram i got two gigs for about 20 u.s. dollars what a steal. but yea using my keyboard for making my melody's because i dont have the range that i would have on a piano keyboard..... so ive narrowed my choices down to two midi keyboards and i just wanted to know if you guys can tell me or help me decide which one is better im kind of on a budget seeing as im only 15 but here are the links to the two thanks in advance

Well both of those links you posted are to products that have been discontinued, so just go with something like this:

Pretty much any MIDI controller keyboard will do, it just all depends on how many keys to think you need and if you want knobs and sliders and such.
Personally, if I were you I'd just go with a plain jane midi keyboard controller, especially if you are just starting out. Most of the sliders and knobs on those low budget midi controllers are pretty crappy anyway, so why spend the money on them? If you really want a quality MIDI controller, then this is probably the one to go with:
Novation Remote 61 SL
At $600, it may be too expensive at this point. I'm not sure of your budget.
If you find yourself really into making music, spend your cash on a good audio interface and a good set of monitors first, then worry about the other stuff. |
