[Tech Trance]Neuchatel - Expanding Desert (Countach Inspired)
View this Thread in Original format

My first intentional tech trance attempt:) Now the track is more and less inspired from the track Countach by W&W. Sound pretty good in my ears, compositional. The engineering is still a little mystery.

Need some feedback on this though...

Enjoy

Hey,

Listening..
whoa, nice stabs in the beginning.
The track starts very promising with a lot of crisp sounds. Especially the stabbed synth is just awesome.
The bass is nice and warm, and really supporting the groove, thumbs up for this!
I see you got quite a few different melody lines that keep this track interesting over full length.

I dont know if its my speakers or something else, but the mix sounds a little chaotic overall. Like theres a lot of sharp elements clashing for space in the mix. For example the kick gets a little weak in the mix.

Otherwise I'd call this a very good track. The harmony between the different elements is really outstanding.

Keep it up!

Now im a major fan! :) gr8 track, a little more sound work might do some magic, dont be afraid to just cut out frequencies with eqs!

but, i just dont like the middle part, if u make a dub of this tell me please :)
Lascodi
Thank you very much:)
Things will be changed and improved later on. Yesterday I sat on school creating a little between preparing for examination for main thesis, and all I had was some crappy logitech headphones. But I was so eager to share it, that I didnt care, hehe. I hope I will please you all with a re-mastered version when I have time, maybe Friday.

Keep on feedbacking though, need some input for how to make this the perfect choon, hahaha.

Ah, you mean the "way too melodic part"...I see, you dont like this, I know that. I will see after finishing school. Then I will probably have the time for non-melodic remixes of this track, and that other track you mentioned.

Thanks mate for being my fan:D

Nice trendy kick you've got there :) synth stabs always seem to do
well in techtrance so you've got that figured out well ;)

Everything sounds nice and clear from the beginning!

Sweet that you give the bassline some solo time, you hear that a lot lately that trance is a bit more 'bassline' focused.

Im not very keen on the melodic part as well, but thats just personal taste, all my tech/trance tracks just have one or two notes that play over and over again :)

But this sounds very promising, im curious what labels are gonna say :)
Lascodi
Thanks takkra. I havent had the time to think about labels, ever...getting paid for music, what is that? thats like getting paid for playing video-games, or what?...hehe

but if the result gets really pleasing one day I might send a mix to some of this average labels with low standards, just to see if the business is my cup of tea.

A+ synths man, did you program all of them yourself? What did you use? Seriously pro-sounding synths there, good job.

As cyber said, awesome stabs/groove. The melodies are great!

I think the percs/hats feels too ''simple'' or underworked compared to the rest, maybe something a little more groovy might suit the song better in my opinion. The groove is already there though, just saying it might be even more awesome with good perc work.

I also feel a low-mid frequency gap, maybe come eq on the bass could help this.

Hey, its just some minor vst's... Vanguard (I still use it :P), V-Station and of course the old classic Pro-53 (always with me). Together with some PSP fx, which really sharpen the sound to the crack of a whip. The synths are based on presets, but the knobs are probably spun to the unknown...

Ok, i've done some really groundbreaking stuff with the track today. Now the sounds are top gear:D, absolutely awesome...I got everything prepared, so I think will re-compose the whole thing...A little darker, and a little less melodic. Tech trance to the bone.
Really looking forward to put that sound to new life:)
