Quiet Village is Joel Martin and Matt Edwards (Radio Slave)... but this isn't dance music. for anyone looking for something a little different, i highly recommend this. just lush, hypnotic, summery, relaxing, sexy music. |

| So good...and if you like this the new Toby Tobias album due out on rekids is also very nice, though he has many more up-beat/dance tracks. |

There is a ridiculous amount of good sampling on this album. I swear, if you sit down and start tracking down each sample they used you'd be tracking down records from the 50's and 70's. It's educaeiting.
I'm going to try and sort some out (i'll list what i can find) it's going to take me a couple of days. |

According to other sources, the 1st track "Victoria Secret" is made up of a 1972 'chi-lites' record ("Coldest Days of My Life"). however, i still think it sounds like frank sinatra's "strangers in the night" which was released in 1966. Who copied whom? "Pillow Talk" is a mash-up of samples of 1978's APP's Pyramid ("Voyager"/"Pyramania") whilst "Too High To Move" is taken from a David McWilliams "Days of Pearly Spencer" album released somewhere around the late 70s. what really shocks me is the correlation between Jimi Hendrix's 'Band of Gypsys' and Quiet Village's 'circus of horror'. Even more surprising is the additional Superfly Mayfield and mournful flutes á la Nora Orlandi’s “Dies Irae” variations (best known as the score to Budd’s “That woman deserves her revenge… and we deserve to die” moment from Kill Bill Vol. 2).
