The majority of people who are fans of teams NOT on the west coast are actually for teams in Boston compared to any other city.
Whenever any boston-area team comes to the west coast there are always a huge number of fans for the visiting team....when the red sox play the A's up here, there's often more red sox fan than A's fans....
I know tons of people, both originally from this area and from the east coast, who go for Boston teams...
I don't have a favorite NBA team...I used to watch the game hardcore, but never had a favorite team...but the game got boring to me years ago because the number of quality players just isn't there anymore, IMO.
That said, it's awesome to have a favorite team to root for, but don't be blind because of loyalty and defend when there's nothing to defend. It only brings internal disappointment, frustration, etc...trust me I f'n know!! lol

Does it really matter who wins the Finals? Will it have a altering effect on your life or lifestyle. Never really understood why people get so frustrated over a group of men who are representing their city teams that probably don't give a rats ass about your support.
In the end... it's a job for them. Win or lose these guys are freaking rich... they can care less about you!
It's sad when people get into fist fights when their team is dissed...WTF, it's not like your on the team... who the hell cares!
