| I quit watching it and started watching the one where you are hooked to a lie detector and you have to answer questions that ruin your life and the lives of your family for money. |

Exactly. No one is that happy. Thats the kind of guy you watch and think, "he's totally going home to beat his wife tonight." |
Nah, he's just Canadian... |

| I want to be a contestant on Deal or No Deal just to say "Deal!" to the first offer. "Emil, the banker offers you $4,500, deal or no deal?" "Deal Howie!" Imagine the look on Howies face. |

Game shows would be so much better if people had something to lose.
Something like "Who wants to be a millionaire or an amputee?" or if you spun "bankrupt" on "Wheel of Fortune", your whole family would go bankrupt.
That's the American dream right there anyway - to either hit it big purely by chance and be set for life, or to be ruined spectacularly in public for the sake of the amusement of the whole.
God bless America. |
dude, i swear my roommates and i have discussed that same idea. not the amputee thing, just the bankrupt thing :nervous:
anyways yeah, deal or no deal = lose. they draw it out for ing one and a half hours every episode? wtf. bob barker price is right is where it's at. |

If for nothing else then that 'everyman' contestant in the showdown:
***[showdown offering of cheap tent, cheap camping supplies, cheap boat, and cheap camping trailer]
Contestant: I bid $54,000 Bob!***
Man did I love that contestant! |

oh man, this guy the other day (on the vastly inferior drew carey version of price is right) bid outrageously way too low on an obviously expensive showcase. maybe $40000 on a boat, two cars and a bunch of other . aaaaaannnnndd... yeah that's about all i have to say about that. |

Holy crap, they give away stuff like that now! I remember when the showcase was a crappy living room set, dining set, and patio furniture valued at like $13k. And the most expensive showdowns were like $24k. |

yeah, but i watched it most back in the day when they gave out one crappy baseline model american car along with a few other odds and ends. such as patio furniture. now their showcases are minimum $80000 it seems. and every time i watch one of the new episodes, everyone wins. period. weirds me out.. |
