| wow....sorry to hear that. glad nobody was hurt. i'm actually thinking about getting a gun. i get quite a nice employee discount for working at Academy Sports and Outdoors and i've been looking at what all they have. i'm thinking a nice shotgun or pistol. haven't decided yet. |

| The best thing for home defense is a shotgun. I prefer Mossberg 590s but anything similar will do fine. Barring that I usually keep my Springer .45 handy. But everyone knows a handgun is what you use to fight your way back to your real weapon. |

The best thing for home defense is to use a gun you can handle. That may not be a shotgun for some people. |

Not if you know how to handle it. I can punch nails with my "baby" Glock. :D
Zild, I'm surprised you don't have a RPG! :haha: |

| Sorry for your loss. I hope you have renters or homeowners insurance. Renters Insurance protects against fire and theft for less than 200 a year. Well worth it... |

All I know is as an eight year old child I could shoot a shotgun like nobody's business. So my advice is get a shotgun and have someone teach you how to use it. It takes all of 30 minutes. |

I would be willing to challenge any criminal that had a shotgun to closed quarters tactical combat with my nightstand weapon of choice
S&W .357 sig.

Of course, this was my primary when in my former profession. I might have a little bit of an advantage over John Doe with daddies sawed off 12 guage. :D |
