Deserved win of Russia over a weak Sweden
I always knew they had more potential than they showed in their first match :toocool: |

| Well-deserved victory for the Russians and I was thoroughly impressed by the performance, should be a cracking match with the Dutch if they repeat that display :) |

Well each game they play like this, they gain more confidence. It seems like they played a lot better, but I didn't see it. I watched the espn gamecast thing. |

I'm expecting the dutch and the russians to score around 8-10 goals on Saturday. |

gorgeous display of football. should've been 5-0 if damn pavluk didn't miss his usual 2-3 chances. we hit the post twice too.
larsson had a nice header in the early goings but that's the only threat i saw from sweden.
huge match soooooo happy!
hopefully we don't completely fall apart against the dutch. i'm optimistic but not stupid. i just want a good tough performance.
PS - it's been said before but i'll say it again. our goalkeeper is the SHIIIIIT! |

Too bad you're facing the one team you dont want to face
Interesting to see Hiddink against his home country |

Yeah they played really well. They've definetly got an attacking edge to their game with smooth, crisp passes to feet. Arshavin gave you that extra dimension that you were missing in the previous games and with a better out and out attacker, you would have won this by 4-5. Plus you've got age on your side, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them over-turning the dutch on Saturday
As Vern said, should be lots of goals if both play as well as they can do :) *touch wood*
I dunno Deny's, I still think your keeper is a bit dodgy. A lot of those balls into the box he could have clung onto tonight, but punched instead, and there was one occasion where Sweden almost cashed in because of it, so if were Van Basten tonight, I'd be asking his boys to fire lots of balls right under his crossbar on Saturday. Other than that, I couldn't really fault him :) |

| I dont know if its the case for him too, but alot of keepers tend to punch the ball away because the ball is very slippery when wet. |

:) Yeah, thats true. Look what happened to Cech eh?
Plus there's also been a few keepers making their feelings about the Euro 2008 ball be known, saying that it moves quite a bit in the air, so it's understandable if he's feeling a bit uneasy about catching. |
