Haha, I was almost going to suggest that as an option, but I second-guessed it, thinking "naw, nobody actually USES that thing..." |

itunes...
itunes store for podcasts, from news to music they come to me automatically.
itunes radio for groove salad which plays full time throughout the house day in and day out(then the store when i hear something on groove that i like, you can see the title in the bar in itunes then purchase from the store effortlessly)
itunes Tv for my daily show and other such tv' shows im too lazy to newsgroup download and convert to MP$ for the ipod on the plane.
itunes for apple TV, so my entire movie/tv collection is available in the bedroom and living room TV
itunes for playlists... the search function to break dowm my collection is second to none, creating playlists for the ipod or the house is easy
itunes for photo syncing to apple tv, the apple tv screen saver is 15 years of photo's... its endless and hilarious as you see all the random pics going by on the plasma in the living room, amazing for parties.
visual hub for taking avi's and converting them with one click to mp4 for itunes (automatically puts them into itunes for me also)
imac at home as a media hub
i have a macbook pro and my girl has a macbook
seamless music/movie/tv sharing throughout the household.
i used to HATE mac... but osx changed all that and the constant improvements have impressed me... i still USE pc in the studio (with itunes there also). but will be switching at some point. |

winamp for tunes
vlc for video
anapod for ipod |

Winamp for MP3s/audio, VLC for Video, iTunes to load up the iPod. I find that iTunes is just a bit 'clunky' for day to day use for my liking.
Was using FooBar2000 for awhile, but found that when trying to skip ahead in long MP3s (DJ sets), there would always be a bit of a lag, which was annoying because I tend to 'skim' sets quite a bit. |

iTunes is trash. Winamp rules for music. VLC and Media Player Classic with the Defilerpak codec pack for video.
If you don't use Winamp you're a communist sympathizer. |
yes, but what about podcasts (playing video and audio) and syncing with iPod!!??
i need an alternative to stupid crashing itunes. |
