Cubase and Live Lite 6 Audio Record Question???

First I want to say I've tried researching this problem before posting this and haven't found't nothing but pure "rewire" instructions. Need help.
Ok, I have Cubase LE rewired with Ableton Live 6. What I'm trying to do is bounce 2 audio kicks from Live into Cubase.
The problem is this: I can't seem to record the 2 audio tracks that I'm hearing played together in Cubase.
Sure, I can play the 2 tracks, but when I arm the Audio 1 channel in Cubase and hit record, the audio being put out by Live isn't being recorded.
What am I missing here?
I'm doing this only because for some reason I am unable to render (Bounce) the 2 audio tracks in Live. Some mysterious reason. |

| Since you're using Cubase LE, you'll have to do an export audio mixdown and then choose the rewire channel(s) as your output path. |

| Do I do that within Live or Cubase? A walkthrough would be more helpful...thanks |
