The festival's not cheap either... $175 for the two-day experience.

Why does our V-FEST always suck?
I think all we got last year (in terms of 'dance') was Tommie Sunshine, Porter & M.A.N.D.Y.
Sure its decent, but nothing compared to what Baltimore is always like!

I would argue that it probably has a lot do to with the fact that Baltimore is very centrally located in terms of nearby markets such as NYC, Philly, DC, Richmond, Pittsburg, etc...
although I think it's an excellent question and one that isn't asked enough .. i've always thought that our V-Fest definitely lacks the music variety seen in its other incarnations around the globe.. it's also a shame given that TO was at the forefront of the North American dance scene back in the 90's but the rest of Canada and the US have certainly caught up if not passed us

You got that right.
Mark me as potential right now. Will probably fall into the likely column in a week or 2 once I can clear my schedule in August. |

Actually it's a friend's b/d party that cannot be missed. But either way I must painfully bow out of this. |

bwahahahah! that is the funniest thing I have heard all damn day. Thank you for the laughs. Please I beg of you, come to our american cities and see what our dance scene is really like. You might say NYC, DC, and LA are doing *DECENTLY* but thats the best word I could use here. we are no where NEAR canada/the rest of the world, and is evidenced by the fact that even some big names in NYC get half-empty dance floors (let alone other cities with no scene whatsoever. Please, be grateful for what you have because it really is lackluster at best here. We have a great virgin festival. great, now what about the rest of the year? :( |
