WOOOOOOOOT THAT WAS BANGIN! Lotta people missed out bigtime last night.
Victor kicked things off proper, some nice hard moving beats, none of that wimpy warm-up house haha! Couldn't tell you one track but I kinda like that, he's got a nice unique style.
Cosmic Gate were awesome as hell. I think the mixer was ing up but the switched it out mid-set, and the did it right, you really didn't even notice they were doing it. They had the place bumpin thier whole set. Everyone singing along loud as hell to all the vocals. They dropped this Markus Schulz mashup of As The Rush Comes vs. Phunk which was sick as hell. What else... Sirens of the Sea, damn that track is so sweet, oh Body of Conflict, and the whole place was singing their lungs out.
So I have to say, when Cosmic Gate was getting towards the end of thier set I was thinking damn, Johan's got some big shoes to fill.
And I gotta tell ya, after not getting to see him spin in almost two years... Johan is still my FAVORITE ING DJ ON THE PLANET! My man DESTROYED that ing place!! He came on with some harder, techy stuff, and built right in to BANGING ING TRANCE. I was on stage chillin, and he was killing it so proper I said to him "Dude I gotta get on the ing dancefloor!" He's so nasty on those CDJ's and DJM800. He could hang up there with Eddie Haliwell. Droppin loops and samples, and making builds, and manipulating tracks. At one point I was watchin over his shoulder, he had this loop going, dropping on top of it with one CDJ, creating his own build, and at the top of the build on the third CDJ drops the "In Session... Johan Gielen" sample and just loops out perfect to just BAM!!! AHHHH! I wanna do that all over again hahah.

The crowd and the vibe on the dancefloor was one of the best I've seen in a while. I'd say like 75% of the people were there to see the DJ's and not walk-ups. Everyone was cool and friendly and just going ape together!
Finally got to meet and get pics with Cosmic Gate after what, like 8 years of being a fan, maybe longer! Both of them are cool as . They hung out after their set almost til close. Talked to Johan a bunch too, he's got some new coming out soon, I can't wait to hear it!

| wish i could have been there...johan is easily one of my top 5 favorites of all time...never forget seein him at wemf 3 years ago as rob mentioned with the build-ups and then all u hear is "in session....johan gielen".......my god i get chills thinkin back to that event. johan is the in !! |
