The reason i came to this, was because i bought my ticket when Dave was still on the line-up, and plus there was nothing else to do this weekend. I knew that i would not love this event, but i thought it would at least be enjoyable to some degree.

Yeah that guy from Deep Dish was boring as hell, almost passed out in there..
In Kool haus Green Velvet sucked , i mean did they go out and find the most annoying voice ever and put the guy on stage?? Then trying to be cool at the end of his horrible performance he throws his stupid piano/guitar thingy on the floor, HURTING!!!
Left the club at 3:30, just had no more energy, i tried to stay awake but my efforts were futile!!

LOL... you left after me... THIS PARTY WAS THE WORST!!!! MUSIC.... no no HORRID MUSIC.... and the breaks that Timo played... some were good, but most were the worst breaks i've ever heard! So many vocals ruining track after track...there was no energy in that place what's so ever, did any of the crowds even cheer because the DJ was playing such an amazing track??? NOOOOPE!!!!.... Why would the Guv make a big event like this and not have a more variety of electronic music in the all the rooms.... no techno, or trance, and at least a better prog DJ.
I think i would've rather listened to a Mark Oliver set than any of the DJ's there.
And if the music wasn't bad enough, the Guv now has Go-Go Boys!!!??!?!??? ... WHAT THE F#%$ is Up with that!!!!... C'mon it's just grosss... put a shirt AND some PANTS ON! Despite what the Guv thinks.... girls don't want to see that!... well maybe the stripper types, and guys that like guys do.
GUV, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!???
Ok, now the good things about the night was that flame alien person on the stilts, that was trippy and i wasn't even high, they need to do like that more often. Now the new look and set-up. Wow it's so much nicer in there now everywhere... love what they did... the screens in each rooms were such an improvement. Guv's atmosphere looks so much better, even though it looks like an extention of the orange room, but oh well cause the orange room now looks so much better, i can't believe the acid lounge... it actually doesn't look like a hole!!! Great job to Guv for making it look comfortable.
Now.... let me rate this event 2/10, because the club is so nice and the walking alien person gives the "extra 2 points", but overall this event was one of the most pathetic group of DJ's i've heard at a party. |

I personally think that Guv is trying to shade away from the trance and more towards the progressive/mellow stuff. Why? it obviously attracts the older crowd. A huge reason why Guv is doing this is because of Oliver, who refuses to play any new trance at all.. I feel that they are purposely trying to get away from the "raver" scene and tryng to start an underground clubber scene, hence the renovation..
However my predictions: Guv and Oliver are forgetting about their roots, Guv is great now because of the raver scene; they are the ones that made the Guv as big as it is today. Most of the crowd that populates the Guv will grow out of clubbing within 2 or 3 years. Guv will eventually see a decline in attendance, since other competing clubs will go the trance way, and will bring back trance muzik as the norm...
THESE ARE JUST MY PREDICTIONS!!!
However, Guv looks awesome, so does Kool Haus. It is definitely the best setup in the city. They just have to figure out their recent sound problems and the rest will be fine... |

It definitely was not worth the $35 I think. Timo Maas was the only DJ I enjoyed listening to the whole night. The Guvernment although looks nice had no nice music all nite long!! I agree with most opinions here....
except that I didn't like the guy stilts either, I found his appearance disturbing....maybe its just me! |

Ummmm...just one comment about the Guv crowd growing out of clubbing within 2-3 years...you do realize that there are younger people that will become regulars within 2-3 years at the Guv, right? It's a 'catch 22', it'll never end until a newer, better, "cooler" club shows up. People will grow out of the clubbing scene, and the same amount will be born into it. |

| just one concern here...you all knew that this event was all about house and progressive, so why bother going and paying 35 bucks if you KNOW that you wont have fun? if you dont like progressive or house, dont bother going  simple logic. |

Interesting how divided the reviews are.
Reasons why this was one of my best nights out ever, and definitely the best at Guv\Kool Haus: Had not had a good dancing night in quite a while, Timo Maas had a great set, Green Velvet was quite entertaining (although I agree the voice is very annoying, I was able to stand it for the 50 minutes they were on), one of the best crowds ever at a party, much improved sound and lighting at Kool Haus, more room and better sound (less loud and less distorted) at Guv except for the beginning of the night, big enough crowd yet enough room to dance, enough light in both rooms so you could see people's faces (I hate it when they make events\clubs really dark, takes away from the social atmosphere) more coat check people and door people to minimize line-up time (finally!!!), the party going late till 7:30, and my group of awesome awesome friends.
Reasons why this should have not been a good night: Well, music was just pathetic overall. In fact, Guv was all night (I got there at 11:00) except for the last set which was quite trancy for a change (don't know who was spinning then). Very disappointed by Sharam (from Deep Dish) and Josh Wink. But, the other factors made up for the music, though had it not been for Timo Maas to start me up (I could totally not get into it before that) I probably would have had a night.
Only other thing that lacked was more TA's!! I ran into dietcocaine, malice, liquidchick, and heatscore, and that was it. Too bad we didn't arrange a TA meetup. |

Well, as much as I've come to love good house and progressive as well as trance, most of the sets were just boring as hell. Thank God for Timo. |

Well me and bluE_Neon were wondering how come there's no TA meetup happening...and we assumed no one is going, cause so many people were complaining that Dave Seaman wasn't showing up. |

I absolutely hated Saturday night. The only good thing was the renovations. The GUV looked so amazing, everything did. Too bad the music sucked big time!!! I've never had such a bad time at an event. Malice and I left at like 3 a.m. I hate house music and that's all I heard, oh and that annoying voice of Green Velvet. I'm so not a fan of progressive. Oh, how I longed to hear trance. I wish I was a big time celebrity who attended the event so I could give it bad publicity. What's even worse about the night is that I had to suffer through it sober. Oh, and I'm sure those who went saw the loser go-go boys with their little gold bikini bottoms dancing like strippers. Hey, now all those EC dancing ginos can have a goal to work towards. HA! HA! All I have to say about that is has anyone ever watched Queer As Folk??? All in all, that night is not even worth rating. Waste of time, waste of money. If I was a house or progressive fan, my review would be much different but I'm not so there!!!
Once again, it was great seeing the TA's that did show up. Arcticboy, it's always a pleasure. Heatscore, same goes for you. And Dietcocaine, glad to finally put a face to a name. |

It's TRUE. If it weren't for Timo I would've been DEAD bored. He's the only dj that got me moving! lol And I'm not a huge prog or house fan but Timo is converting me...after Sun, holy ...:eyes: |
