The dream is over, but I'm sure Russia fans enjoyed it while it lasted. And it doesn't even necessarily have to end, because I'm sure Pavlyuchenko and Arshavin will move to a top league over the course of the summer. Everyone wins!
However, the fact that Spain owned them (even without Villa) says something about the team's consistency. Hiddink has come a long way with this team until now, but work is yet to be done to make them competitive come World Cup qualifying. |
