Kick & snare from sample

I tried to create the kick and snare from the sample below in Reason but I can't seem to get it right.. tried 4 different layers etc
Anyone of you got a sample of such a kick or know how to layer it right?

Kick are really tricky to make them suitable for your song.
Post a sample of what you are doing so far....
Btw. check the tutorial 'master list'.. there will be some usefull tips. |

Why do you want to layer kicks?
I'm sure there are many fantastic kicks in this style on the many excellent sample packs/ CDs around. Do a search through the forum... maybe something like "kick sample" or "drum sample" and some related discussions should come up, regarding which commercial or free packs are worth getting.
It's much easier to have several hundred excellent quality kicks in the style you want, then use one straight up rather than tring to layer and compress and all of that. Just find the perfect sample, drop it in, and work on other things. |
