I really like your idea and the feel of that 2 min sample. I wanted more. It's chuggy and thick and makes you ponder; which, imo, is really good :) However my only criticism of it is that it sounds kinda empty- not quite busy enough (as in more sounds should be present) and it doesn't hold enough elements for what I think this track should have...and as a result, what its final product could be.
did that make sense?
Keep it up dude :) |

Yeah, you can definitely change it up a bit. Move the bass note through a chord progression... or something to make it sound less like "single loop repeated for 7 minutes".
Throw in some extra hihats and give 'em some delay (through your send/return effects), they'll give the track a more "moving faster now" feel. Then drop em out... or pitch them up until they get annoying and then drop them out (you know, like when you apply a sonar to your hihats). |

I don't think this track needs anymore hihats. There is a delay designer on the bass and will change eventually, this is only a 2 minute sample.
Thanks for your imput though. |

I think you shouldn't ask people what they think. ;-)
Music, creativity, as to meet your own standards. Compare it with the tracks you like, and work on it until YOU are satisfied.
You can ask for advice (like how to get more from a sound, or technical issues) but in terms of what is good or not, it is ultimately up to you.
Some will be happy with one week's work, some will not be happy after 3 years. You should know if your track sucks balls or if it's good. You can't lie to yourself. |
