lol, agreed. The first two years I went out, I would get home at like 7 in the morning, and immediately turn on my computer to post my review of the night on TA, Clubplanet etc, etc... My mom would come downstairs to make her coffee and could never understand how on Earth I could be wide awake after being out all night... :eyespop:

ahh, those were the days...:toothless

That's Hilarious. My parents used to say to Me "How is it that you're wide awake on a Saturday and Sunday morning, but you can't get your ass out of bed on a Monday morning to go to work ?"..

Yes Zack, They certainly were the days..

Listen, this is not a case of talking smack about New York but was more of a commentary on dance music's health in the states and specifically, the lack of review about this event (you should call me a WOW ho before you accuse of me starting region fights). The only reason I mentioned Dallas' history was because someone started with some regional smacktalk of their own. Anyway, this was a Friday night party and I didn't post this thread until Sunday morning/afternoon, figuring that was ample time to get around to posting at least a remark ("cool show" or "wow, that sucked"). Otherwise, one gets the impression (mistakened or not) that the show must have not gone down too well or nobody showed! That Nic F. review was hardly the work of someone who was wasted out of their mind.

Thanks for the youtube snippet, that's Chymera's "Parelo" (Wisternoff Remix).

It could be that all there is to do in Texas is read NYC forums on sunday mornings looking for party reviews.

This is where you're incorrect. All I really cared to see was a Wisternoff review. He only hits the west and east coast these days, hardly playing America's heartland anymore, so I was looking for a specific review. Touchy mofos in here.

Alot of DJs avoid America's heartland like the plague....

...there could be a reason for that

It's not what you said. It's the WAY you said it. A simple..."hey did anyone go see Jody?" would have been quite enough.

But no...you had to exaggerate, and bring in your baseless comment regarding "the supposed state of dance music" which would tempt everyone to come in and debate that with you.

He played Dallas in 2005 with a great response. He was rebooked in 2006 but developed a severe case of hyperacusis so had to cancel. There's nothing wrong with playing this town, it's only prejudices and misconceptions that would cause someone to avoid this city like the "plague," if this is your insinuation.

Euphoria, I was very disappointed, that's all. I've been rallying for this guy for ages. I want to see him get a high profile comp and make an even bigger splash worldwide (domestically in particular). I'm sorry if I was a little depressed about that and made a comment that pulled all your strings.

I suggest talking to your area promoter in the future about bringing in DJs that you think would go over well in your area

Austin gets some good events. I know its not ideal for Dallas but is better than nothing.

The party was fantastic! Jody is an absolute great guy and his set was gorgeous. Very melodic, chunky, driving stuff that had the whole going nuts. His "Parelo" remix blew the room up, and I loved when he dropped the Jooris Voorn remix of "Magnolia." We had a blast opening up for Jody - just a solid floor of of smiling faces and dancing people :)

After the club closed there was a spontaneous steet party right outside Cielo. It was an amazing scene that just developed out of nowhere.
