i'm coming over to work in Long Island for the summer and was wondering how much cds cost over there? the average compilation album here is between 15-16 quid (pounds).

Also, can anyone tell me of some good recent albums that are exclusive to the US. I often hear of kimball collins, george acosta on these forums.

Even better, if anyone knows any cheap cd shops in the area pls post em up here or PM me

many thx

average cd in the states cost $12-15.
kimball collins is one of my favorite dj's just because he is quality and he is also from the states...i know that sounds like an oxymoron :stongue: i think you can get his full albums on ag. i recommend: music is life, and icu volume 1. if you can't find them, i'll rip them. i'm not too much of an acosta fan...couldn't tell you too much about him. i live in d.c. so i couldn't tell you any shops to go to either.

a typical CD is around $15, which would be roughly 10 pounds

i have kimball collins ICU vol 2 and i think its pretty good.. kinda dated now but at the time it was good.. i've seen him many times a couple years ago but i haven't heard him spin since... but for a US dj, i give him two thumbs up!

I don't know, but average CD price in Tennessee (where I live and trust me -you must be real digger to find here a good or even some trance music-damn! thank god for internet and tranceaddict site) is about 18 bucks for album and 20-22 for double CD. And about George Acosta - yeah I like him :D . Try his latest compilation Next level.

Trance CDs are more expensive where I live cause alot of them are imports...they're like $5 more than a regular CD. I don't bother buying them cause it seems like a rip off to me.

Most CDs are double ones and therefore are usually $20. I think it's worth it though cuz it's only $10 a cd. Single cds though will usually run $17-18 here in New York. Then the imports like MoS cd's will usually be $30...they're not worth it.

dude you didn't mention the best Kimball Collins CD ever - ICU GENERATION TRANCE 2000!

This is the best of the best, the cream of the crop!
It's the most amazing Trance mix I've ever heard in my life.
BE SURE to get it, either buy it or DL it, you're missing out on a phenomenal experience.

Be glad you arent here. I paid like 35$ for politics of dancing at my local HMV, and that was one of the cheapest trance cds there. It seems if anything is imported it is automatically 30$ or more. BS.

the big shops, prices are $14-15...and they don't usually get on sale like the other CD's when they could drop to $12. All depends if its a 2cd album or 1. George Acosta plays some very uplifting trance that rocks the crowd. If you like ferry style stuff, then you might like him. Kimball collins spins more of deep trance, but he spins some very classy stuff. I tend to like acosta more. Ask around for trance CD shops cause they are pretty hard to find. The place I probably go to, which they have lots of stuff for original prices is tower records which is a pretty popular place.
