I've done this a couple of times but this time I want to be really mixing the tracks. My gear will be a bcd 2000 + Laptop with NI Traktor 3.2. Any advice for a this kind of music? I hope I can sneak in some EDM ;) david.michael Make a spreadsheet of all the songs in your "crate" with 3 columns: 1/2 bpm | bpm | 2x bpm for quick reference. Mix away. edit: also utilize Traktor's looping function. Tony Morello mixing hip hop is easy know that your mixes won't be long and drawn out like EDM, they usually last on average ~30sec just make sure you pick tunes in the same bpm range also, realize that you don't need to beatmatch every mix, it sounds good but ultimately, your average top 40 crowd could care less about beatmatching, it's more about the actual songs you play and how they flow, quick, on beat cuts or quick fades will work (think radio mixes) djsaekone this may give you some ideas check this out http://djsaekone.com/Files/MP3/08/j...S1_rapdemo2.mp3 Tilo the night went really well...I was mixing 9 hours and everybody had a great time.
