I wanted to make one for the motherland.
Now let's make like Hamlet, comrades. REVENGE!
...yes I'm aware Hamlet dies in the end. |

Sounds like a good plan. You get your revenge against Spain, and die in the final against Germany. :toothless |

I'd take it, no one expected us to be this far along anyway. Of course the dream final would be Russia - Turkey, to avoid the predictability of it all. The underdog tales are always a good piece of history. Of course the obvious is Germany - Spain. But I think football needs new powerhouses, new challengers.
All I really ask for is a good game. I have never been on the edge of my seat as I was during Russia - Netherlands match. If I can get that feeling again, lose or win for Russia, I will be very very happy. They're playing the best football in the tournament at the moment and I only want to see it again and again and again. |

Winnig this for either Russia or Turkey won't sure make them a new powerhouse.
It takes decades of constant football and victories to even be considered a powerhouse. |

Really hoping Spain comes away with the win. Last time they won the Euro was in the 60s I believe. They've been plagued for years with a great team that somehow manages to lose in the end, I think this could be their year. Let's go fury! |

I'm expecting Spain to break Russia's run at last. Spain has rarely had such a mature, cool squad, somethng which had always been their weak point. A really healthy mix of an awesome goalkeeper, experienced defenders (Puyol for instance), amazingly efficient and hard working midfielders (iniesta, Xavi), technical geniuses (Fabregas), and goal producing machines (Torres/Villa), with a fox of a coach who's seen it all. Hiddink might have produced unbelievable mircales, but they never had a totally happy ending (contrary to Rehhagel, who's perhaps an uglier but more effective magician).
Still, Russia has been amazingly impressive, and I expect a fight till the very last seconds (or penalty kick). |

for me, the best team may win ... but I'll put my money on Russia. I doubt Spain will be able to stop Arshavin and they will also have difficulties with the high pressure of the Russians. They just come from everywhere so I'm really curious what Spain will (try to) do to stop them |

As well as Russia has been playing, I think Spain deserve to win this and the Final. Obviously deserving it means nothing because they have to earn it, but I think they'll put in a very good performance against a very good Russian side. Above all, I'm hoping for a beautiful game. Villa to get another 2 goals. |

I wouldn't exactly call Spain a powerhouse. Challenger maybe, but certainly not a powerhouse. I think Russia's time will come, but I'd like to see Spain take this one. |

I'm rooting for Russia to get their revenge, but I think Spain will prevail. |
