i was one of the many punters who were very disappointed with prydz' no-show, however decided to head along. Got there about 4. Did a circuit of the place, and it was all tripe except for mainstage. Was happy with some of Stonebridge's stomping electro, however that got boring.
Was hoping that D.O.N.S. and his vocal-house-diva Terri B would deliver the goods and they certainly did. I loved DONS' set, and whilst Terri did chat a bit too much, his storming prog, mixed with well-known remakes such as that Foo Fighters - Learn To Love Again, made for a great atmosphere.
Ferry - well nothing else needs to be said except for what SQ-K covered perfectly. the man is a legend, and has never ever grown stale. His music was perfect, and great to hear some classics again, which tore all the newbies a new one.. Whilst Ferry has never seen the mass popularity of Tiesto or Armin, he has yet to grow old, boring, still delivering quality sets.
very impressed with Ferry...
he made listening to trance, fun and enjoyable again...
Brainbox - what a stormer!!!!! |

i had to say to my mate next to me (who came solely for underworld and had never listened to trance before):
"i'm not just being a fanboy, am i? ferry really is killing it, isn't he?"
he was punching the air while radio crash kicked in, so i think that was my answer.
a fair few of the reviews on ITM from the techno-elitists reckoned ferry smashed it as well. i've rarely seen universally positive reviews from a trance set like that.
and brainbox, jeeeeeeezus. ferry really landed the killer blow with that track. i should just about retire now, i reckon. |

Saw about 30 minutes of Mike Nichol, pretty good. Much prefer him to Tydi. Tydi is e, how he's so popular is beyond me. He's a talented dj, he just plays utter crap. And someone should tell him to stop watching Tiesto and Armin DVD's, he's got all the poses down pat:rolleyes:
Utah Saints were pretty funky, enjoyed their set. Just big fun.
Ferry was awesome. Wasn't feeling his first hour, bit ho hum, but the last 2 hours were mad, seriously ing good. omg Gouryella, only been waiting 9 years to hear that being played out.
Underworld were insane. Their first track sucked but after that was just out of control. So freaking good. |
