we had rat problems in my house back when i was very little (before i was 6) and my dad would catch them and put them in a bag and put the bag in the exhaust pipe of the car and wait for them to die....
so cruel but what else was he supposed to do with them? he tried drowning them but they suffered way more. |

well its nice to see u care for the animals well being...just call a vet and tell him the situation and ask for advice on what to do....i couldnt kill an innocent animal.
why not take it to the vet and have it euthanized? it costs like $5 for an animal that size and its the humane way of killing it. thats what id do, b/c a broken leg will kill it eventuaqlly from infection and thats more painful. |

well the little guy is moving around a bit more now... before he wouldnt even move towards the water. i doubt his leg will really be okay, but i see poor animals with busted legs all the time. not that thats okay, but its nature. who am i to really upset that?
if the guy can move around decently tomorrow then we'll probably let him go. |

| that's a mouse. i breed lab mice and gerbils at my dad's lab. i think the most humane thing you can do is kill it, it's not going to wear a cast or get it's leg amuptated. I usually drop them in a jar of ether or smash their heads by slamming them against a counter. hope it's tail doesn't break.. :gsmile: |
