Tho, I do notice a sharp decrease in short-term memory, which is pretty bad in my line of work. I also find it hard to focus or see a progression of tasks. Like if I have to get from point A to point G, I have to do it step by step, A-B, B-C, C-D, D-E, E-F, F-G, whereas before I was able to see most of the steps from A-G. Kinda scarry. I wonder if it is permanent?

heh, well, it was something that I could not keep doing sustainably, unless I dedicated my life to it, kicked school, work the dead end job forever. I just decided school and my future were better than today's destructive pleasures (not weed).

I disagree with your statement that it's addictive. Weed has addictive qualities, but it's not physically addictive by any means. If you go a day without smoking, irritability is common, but the next few days usually ease up, and your urge to smoke is quelled. You are never physically required to smoke, like you'll go insane if you don't. I smoke weed because I like smoking. It's the single easiest drug to quit. All you gotta do is just stop. If you are mentally stronger than a 4 year old, you can quit too.

I'm actually quitting so that I can focus on my schoolwork and finish off this semester right. You can smoke and study, but it's not quite the same, and usually that whole "short term memory loss" takes into effect. I think I'm making the right choice by taking a break. Next semester when I go back to work full time, I'm going back to smoking full time.

It's not physically addictive like cigarrettes, but it is mentally addictive, especially after doing it for so long. Try quitting when you've smoked everyday for the past 3 years, and like clockwork, get home from work, LIGHT UP, until nighty night. That's a hard habit to break. Especially when there are underlying reasons for why one such as myself would smoke all the time like that. It really depends on what you want in life. Don't get me wrong. I love weed. The act of smoking. The initial onset of being stoned. But for a lot of people, like myself, there comes a point where one does not smoke because they want to, they smoke because they have to, even if in reality, they don't have to, but they do. I was at the point where if I wanted to stop smoking, I couldn't imagine it.

It's different for some people. To each his own right?;)

hmm, well...you seem to have the personality of a toenail, so even if you aren't an alt, you're still not cool enough to be in the e-presence of us... :toothless
