Quash - Sweet Sweet (incl. Cates & dpL Remix) [Morrison Recordings]

Max Thomson
Presently residing in Boston, MA, Quash combines natural melodic sensibility with a passion for driving rhythms and deep grooves. As a pianist she is admired for her sensitive touch and sincere, expressive performances. As a composer she has written music with beauty, simplicity, and organic percipience, primarily inspired by improvisational technique of George Winston and the harmonic colors of Debussy, Chopin, and Satie. While not at odds with these influences, Quash is likewise inspired by the hip hop hits of the 90s, trip hop artists such as Massive Attack and Hooverphonic, and electronic dance music, naming Mark Farina, Terry Lee Brown Jr., and Jens Buchert as merely a few of her favorite artists. In a flooded market that sometimes devalues creativity for hype and commercial viability, her contribution remains colorful, versatile, and ever true to her matchless character and musicality.

"Sweet Sweet" is an extremely well produced piece of electronic music with an incredible piano solo and intricate drum programming. I was lucky enough to sign this incredible track to Morrison Recordings several months ago, and am extremely excited it has been released.

Cates & dpL [OM RECORDS, GLOBAL UNDERGROUND] have turned in an excellent breaks mix that really does need to be heard in all its glory to be believed. So buy both tracks, they are well worth your money!
