| I'm driving up to chill in SF for the Labor Day weekend with my gf. Will definitely be going to Carnival Saturday and Markus Sunday. I've never driven up there on a holiday weekend. I wanted to take the 101 and have a nice drive up the coast. Should i stay away from the 101 and take the 5 instead? I'm sure its going to be a zoo on the road! |

101 _can_ be a nicer ride, but if you run into any issues you are screwed. Stops/Gas Stations/Food is far and fewer between. It's a longer drive....and it runs through some busy little towns where traffic can slow down.
I have taken in a few times because of my departure point from SoCal, but in the end the 5 has always done me better except twice...but that was because the wind knocked over a few buses and semis one time (talk about a scene...especially all the cars crossing the medium trying to do u-turns and getting stuck in a couple feet of mud in the middle...mud you couldn't see was because of the gas). |

Thanks Dave! I've never driven up the 101 yet all the way to SF so I figured i give it a try. Heard it was a nice drive but i'll probably do the 5 back home on Monday. See ya this weekend! |

some of us are having dinner, then heights on friday, maybe condor afterwards. menno said he'll try to come to heights for drinks and well last time before his gig it was a drunken good time! :crazy:
