I'm not a Tiesto hater. I do like a few of his CD's...etc...
but the mix was horrid. awful mixing, that king unique track in that argy was the only good thing about it.
the 1st half of CD2 of ISOS 5 still has the dark prog trance I've heard....his last greatest thing his done... |

the first 3 were great (my opinion). not saying they are *perfect* but i think overall they were great. from 4 on out there have been highs and lows. overall i love the series though, as i love that sort of sound. |

I think its good, CD 1 was surprisingly good.
Why does people complain about the mixing ?
Im no mix expert, but i cannot on a single point find anything wrong with any of the transitions.
And besides, the mixing is real, not some digital . |

A very large point in the concept of ISOS (and the summer prog-trance album from Tiesto) should be FLOW.
As an example, In some mixes even on CD1, there are 30 seconds of flat beats with no percussion where its mixed too late and the flow runs out of steam. It's mixed, beats are matching, its cool... but you're listening to a flat bar or two of just dum-dum-dum-dum, where is the next track?
That is being picky... and also due to being brought up on his earlier mix CD's where 18 tracks and no gaps in flow are found. When he has this high standard, ISOS4->7 fails in the eyes of the experienced listenr like me. I dont want 3-4 mini-journies. I want one seamless one.

I believe i read an interview ages ago where he talked about that, i think its his personal preference to mix like that.
However, i dont think his mixes flows that well, but i thought that was due to the track selection.. but maybe im subconsciously hearing the same thing you do ? |

Surely the flow should be slower on CD1, not every mix should be crammed as tight as possible, so percussive only transitions give the mix more room to breath and let the set climax with more impact later on... how I see it anyway. |

As long as it has no out of tune ( ISOS 5 ) crossfades, it is fine with me.
Most of his live shows are not more less like some clubby experience these days, maybe it is time to retire, get married and get a life.:clown:
I wont miss it anymore, new talents are just around the corner.
