| Well i got a Gemini PS-626 its pretty cheap for the quality u get. Ive had it for almost 2 years and no problems yet. it was voted best mixer 2 years in a row i think, so u might want to check it out. Vestax are pretty expensive, unless u got big bucks, best keep away! they may bite! |

Make sure you get Technic's for decks(roughly around $980
for a pair). Technic's are the industry stantard, need I say more. Even if you don't want to DJ anymore, you can still sell them and get almost full value for them(cus' there the ). As far as a mixer, if you are looking to save money look at Gemini's, but try to at least get kill switches for each channel(like the 626,...etc). If you want a little more shop the internet for Vestax(try www.djmart.com or htfr.co.uk). I know the prices on the PMC 15's & 170A's went down(under $500). Good luck mate! |

I'm also off for the shop. I've thought of cheap stuff,
since I'm like 16 years old (in other words, not THAT
rich). I was wondering, since I'm just gonna play at my
friends' parties, can't I just buy a Numark CDN-20s and the
cheapest Mixer? I mean, is it like diging your own grave
buying stuff below the $450 limit?
I would like to hear your opinion... Thanx... :-) |

| Are you going to take DJ'ing seriously or is this just a phase? If you are just doing this for your friends parties than just rent equipment. |

I hope to get serious (I will do my very best) so my
question is really if it's necessary... what's the
difference? Is it the sound, the feeling, the difficulties
or is it just to put more work on the machines instead of
on you? If you are (like me) in the beginning of your
"career" then maybe you should start with cheap stuff, and
then change to better stuff as you climb up higher in
knowledge, or maybe status?
Anyway, my shopping list as it looks now is:
Numark DM1002X $150
Numark CDN-20s $370
------------------------
Total $420
Of course speakers and stuff I can rent...
What do you guys think? |

| if u buy the good now, it will pay off in the long run! U wont have to go through the hassle of selling your old stuff to get the good stuff. Buy the good stuff! |

if you're gonna get serious about it, i saw buy a quality mixer now and avoid paying bigger bucks in 6 months or so. numark, vestax and pioneer all make some decent mixers.
