I would go DS for sure, if I could only choose one. However, I'm greedy and am going to get a PSP as well for the collection.:D |

Ds was great for me when I first got it and all the good games had come out new super mario, starfox, metroid, resident evil. Then it was like the ds fell of the planet release pure garbage. I got a modded psp a bit ago and I love it play all my fav ps1 games on it and n64 while my ds sits collecting dust. If you want a complete package get a slim modded psp and your set. |

DS, because of the card you can pirate all the DS games + homebrew software support. DS is just a ton of fun, but i've owned both.
i suppose if you're really down with emulation and an all-in-one media center then PSP is the way to go, but with newer models it's harder to hack. also the PSP game library is pretty . i'm much happier with my DS (sold my psp). i used it mainly for emulation, but the software was very buggy and pretty slow. meh. |

Had a PSP a bit ago and as much as I love Sony I gotta go with DS.
Simply better games and Nintendo always has the best handhelds. |

PSP Slim. Better Games (imo). A lot of useful features that aren't even on the DS, ie its like a handheld PC. Better Homebrew (PSP's homebrew has infinite ammo and value). Can be used to do stuff with PS3 like remote-play, retreive and watch stuff from the PS3 HDD, even play PS3 games on the PSP, which is limited at the moment but will be expanded.

I bought a US launch PSP back in the day, sold it a few years back to help pay for my 360. Never owned a DS.
As a gaming unit, the DS wins by a landslide. The sheer amount of original content, the high number of good-quality games, plus the homebrew community put together make Nintendo's handheld the obvious winner in this category.
As a multimedia device, the PSP tends to shine a little better. The homebrew community on Sony's handheld is beyond ridiculous, out there can transform the damn thing into all sorts of crazy , in addition to the fact that emulation is hilariously simple.
..The games however, either are ported from the PS2, or to the PS2, making the video game aspect of the device almost pointless, unless you are really into portable gaming.
The DS has plenty going for it that can only be found on the DS, in addition to many of the same features the PSP has, so it is the more worthwhile handheld when it all comes down to it. |
