Goa Trance sounds absolutely incredible live especially since most Goa tracks are so well produced with such crisp clear sounds. Goa Trance producers are pretty anal about quality of production, so on a big sound system Goa sounds unbelievable.
You prolly won't find too many DJ sets by popular Goa Trance DJs on the net, since the larger Goa parties usually feature LIVE PA acts by actual producers/artists. DJing isn't as big in the Goa scene as compared to other kinds of trance.
But a few of the best Goa DJs in the world include Mark Allen, Joti Sidhu, DJ Anti, Tsuyoshi Suzuki, Goa Gil... But unfortunately I haven't been able to find any mp3s of mixed Goa Trance sets by any of these DJs, altho I do have a few of their mixes on CD.
One good set by Tsuyoshi Suzuki that I found is his "Live at JJJ Mixup" set, altho it's not really Goa Trance. It's mostly Acid Techno. Altho it's closer to Goa than most Acid Techno. I'm still trying to find track IDs for most of the tracks in that awesome set.
Not many mixed Goa Trance CDs are even released, because most fans of Goa Trance are anal about listening to entire tracks from beginning to end without interruption. most of them don't like mixed CDs or sets, preferring to listen to the tracks the way they were originally produced by the artists. That's cuz Goa Trance tracks aren't really produced in the same way as mainstream trance tracks are with a DJ friendly intro and outro.

I noticed that too. Goa trance is more artist albums, less DJ sets. Helps when looking for stuff too. Easier to nail down artist names that way cause they released actual albums of material. On the internet anyways, no way I could find any of this in my local CD store. Local CD store only carries dancehall synthpop imports & regular trance at the most. No goa.
All this compared to the single happy regular trance, which is hard as hell to track down artist names, & virtually no one ever released an album. Paul Van Dyk is an exception though. He makes albums & is easy to track down. |

I recently found a few good Goa Trance sets on audiogalaxy:
Tsuyoshi Suzuki - Core
DJ Cass - Live @ JJJ Mixup, Australia 01-22- 2000
I believe that's Cass of Cass and Slide fame, and it's not all goa... actually I haven't finished downloading the whole thing, so I'm not sure how much of it is...
There are lots of Goa DJs on the net with websites and mixes available for download... You might wanna go to the forums of www.psynews.org and ask there too.
Oh! and I'm just listening to the legendary Oakenfold Goa Mix from 1994 right now...No Trance collection is complete without it. It's just such a classic... It received numerous awards and has been voted one of the best Essential Mixes ever...
