Any other digital camcorder users here?

Got gifted a really nice digital camcorder (Sony HDR-SR11) recently. Happens to be my first one. People say it's a superior gadget but I feel like I can't even begin to release its potential until I can get some advice on:

a) HOW to use it properly (going through the manual is nice but there are a lot of technical terms and methods that I want to be acquainted with through some external sources - internet and/or books),

b) Equipment I need to keep the thing in top-notch shape,

c) Any extra equipment that'd allow me to open up new ways to film (such as lenses, tripod, etc...),

d) Anything else that I should know about.

Greatly appreciated if you could help me out. :D

Funny you should mention that. It's got superior night-vision. :stongue:

Not shot by me. Also, the quality is because of the medium he converted to.

I don't know much about video stuff. We've got an old Sony Digital 8 cam, but we picked up a wide angle lens for it, which is pretty cool I guess. Good for more panoramic sort of stuff.

Edit: I can't imagine lenses for a HD cam being cheap though :/

Very affordable, actually. Most of the lenses I've seen were in the <$50 range.
