Chillout drum sample recommendations

I know that some of you guys create chillout, ambient, triphop, etc. tracks, so I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for some drum sample packs.

I've been working on a lot of chillout tunes lately, but I'm finding that I'm not very happy with my existing drum library for this style. I've got Battery 3, Waldorf Attack, and Stylus RMX (plus all of the Spectrasonics and ILIO expanders) and most of the Vengeance samples, so I've got the electronic and rock sounds covered in spades, but I'm looking for more in the way of jazzy-style acoustic samples.

I've been looking all over the web and all I'm finding are loops, loops, and more loops. What I'm looking for is a collection of high quality .wav single-shots of laid-back, chill-style drums (not of the 808/909 or house/trance variety). I'm particularly interested in kicks, snares/rim shots, and hihats/shakers, but having some ambient style percussive effects thrown in would be a nice addition as well.

Well from the ones i've come across, they mostly are loop based and ALSO include original single hit shots. You can check out this site

http://www.timespace.com/productlis...t/Chillout.html

for some stuff as well.

I have a couple from there and they sound pretty decent.

yo sample your own one shot drums sounds and also check out www.bigfishaudio.com!
Omega_Blue
look for organic or "real" sounding drum samples, also check out thomas penton's essential series vol. 1 http://www.resonantvibes.com/samples.php?id=9

Thanks guys, some good suggestions here. Some of the bigfish audio and timespace sample collections look promising.

Naw, I'd rather spend my limited time making music with quality samples, rather than wasting my time creating and dealing with half-a$$ samples. :p

BEST SERVICE DRUMS OVERKILL, all the way.
I dont use nothing else since I got this baby.
Is about 3 giga bytes of pure samples covering all genres, even ethnic percussions, etc, is simply amazing.
It has a section with drums for chillout and reggae, but seriously, all the kit is simply amazing.

Whoa! I've been watching the video and listening to samples and this looks like the winner. The only problem is, I can't seem to find anybody here in the States who carries it and my experiences with UK dealers (Dolphin, dv247, etc.) have been less than pleasant (months of waiting, damaged goods, goods never received, etc.). I'll keep an eye out for it here and if I can find it, that's the one I'm getting.

Thanks Kopi!

BTW, I see that it is bundled with the NI Kontakt player, but does it also include NI Battery 3 kits?

Couldn't agree more.
I use to get free samples from all over the net and waste endless hours trying to get a single sound, than when I bought Vengeance Vol 1 I noticed every sound was already in there and I could finally actually work A LOT more efficiently.

Just don't know any chill out sampe packs.
I would say just get quality whatever packs and chop them up so they adjust to a more chill track. Wouldn't take much time, just can't recommend any packs that you prob haven't already heard of.

If your looking for quality chill out samples you cannot go wrong with SLO' MOTION TOKYO SOUNDSCAPES from Equippedmusic http://www.equippedmusic.com/

Like all their sample packs the single shots, loops, and well just everything is perfect.

I have most of their products and I cannot rate them highly enough. Not the cheapest though

So I was search for chillout drum kit recommendations and ran into this thread :D

Anyone have any recommendations for this stuff in 2015? Doesn't seem like there is much information out there for chillout/downtempo/ambientish stuff specifically.

I see quite a few available libraries for this type of thing but I can't differentiate between them effectively.

One of my favourite sound libraries for this kind of stuff. If you can get the usb key edition, it's worth it. Apparently there's only 2 left in stock.

I don't have Vincent's new library just yet but it also looks the business.
